1. In an ABC-CLIO Database

1. Select citations to save by checking the Tagged box at the top of each record..
2. Click on Export Options on the top right\ of the screen.
3. At Entry Format: click in the desired radio button.
4. At Request Entry: click in the radio button to the left of Tagged Entries.
5. Click in the radio button to the left of RefWorks.
6. Click on Export Records.
7. Click on Export to RefWorks towards the top of the screen.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

2. In a Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA) Database

1. Select citations to save by clicking the check box next to each citation.
2. Click on RefWorks on the top right of the screen.
3. Make sure the radio button is selected for Marked Records.
5. Click on Export to RefWorks.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

3. In CQ Researcher

1. Display report to be imported.
2. Click on Cite Now!
3. In the citation window, select RefWorks in the Export citation to: drop-down menu.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

4. In an EBSCOhost Database

1. Click on the Add folder icon to the right of the desired citations.
2. Click on the Folder has items link at the top right side of the screen.
3. Click the Save to Disk button
4. Click on the Bibliographic Manager tab at the top of the screen.
5. Click in the radio button to the left of Direct Export to RefWorks.
6. Click on Save.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

5. In a JSTOR Database

1. Click Save Citation link under each desired citation.
2. Click the View Saved Citations at the top of the screen.
3. Select in a new window from the Export citations drop-down menu.
4. Select citation-manager from the Format drop-down menu.
5. Click on Export.
6. Use the browser’s Edit and Select All to select all of the records.
7. Copy the records using Edit and Copy.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import at the top of the screen.
3. Select JSTOR from the Import Filter/Data Source drop down menu.
4. Select JSTOR from the Database drop-down menu.
5. Click in the radio button at the Import Data from the following Text box.
6. Click in the text box, and click on Edit and Paste. Your records will appear in the text box.
7. Click on Import.
8. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
9. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

6. Databases that Do Not Support RefWorks

This database does not allow you to import references into your RefWorks account. You will have to add your references manually in RefWorks. To add a reference manually, select References and Add New Reference from the RefWorks toolbar.

7. Importing EndNote (version 8+) files into RefWorks

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import EndNote V8+ Database at the top of the screen.
3. Click on the Browse button to select the file name of your EndNote library.
6. Click on Import.
7. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
8. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

8. In an OCLC Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Click on the Export button at the top left of the screen.
3. At Export: click in the radio button to the left of Marked records from this search.
4. At Export To:click in the radio button to the left of RefWorks.
5. Click on Export.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

10. In an ISI Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Click on Add to Marked List.
3. Click on Marked List at the top of the screen.
4. At Step 1 click in the box(es) of desired fields.
5. At Step 2 select Field Tagged from the drop down menu.
6. Click on Save to File.
7. Click on Save.
8. Identify your disk drive and filename plus the extension .txt (plain text) in the File Name Box.
Example: a:myfile.txt
9. Click on Save.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import at the top of the screen.
3. Select ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) from the Import Filter/Data Source drop down menu.
4. Select Web of Science from the Database drop-down menu.
5. At the Import Data from the following Text File box click on the Browse button to select the file name of your saved records.
6. Click on Import.
7. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
8. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

11. In a Project Muse Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired citations.
2. Click Save Marked Results at the top of the screen.
3. Click on Email/Export Saved Results.
4. Click in the radio button to the left of RefWorks at Export marked results to: menu.
5. Click on Export.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

12. In a Proquest Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records or check the box to the left of Mark All.
Note: Mark All only marks the records on the page, not all the records retrieved from a search.
2. Click on Export at the top of the results list.
3. Click on Export Directly to RefWorks.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

13. In PubMed

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Select Medline from the Display drop down menu.
3. Select Text from the Send To drop-down menu.
4. Use the browser’s Edit and Select All to select all of the records.
5. Copy the records using Edit and Copy.

In RefWorks

Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import at the top of the screen.
3. Select NLM PubMed from the Import Filter/Data Source drop down menu.
4. Select PubMed from the Database drop-down menu.
5. Click in the radio button next to Import Data from the following Text.
6. Click in the text box, and click on Edit and Paste. Your records will appear in the text box.
7. Click on Import.
8. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
9. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

14. In Hapi Online Database

1. Select citations to save by clicking the check box next to each citation.
2. Click on Saved Checked Items to Bibliograrphy.
3. Click on View Bibliography.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
5. Click on Export To Refworks.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder .
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

15. In a WebSPIRS SilverPlatter Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Click on the Disk icon at the right of the screen.
3. Click in the radio button to the left of Export to Refworks.
4. Select desired save options.
5. Click on OK in the upper right of screen .

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

16. In a Eureka Database

1.Click on the Save to the right of the desired citations.
2. Click on Preferences in the blue toolbar at the top of the page.
3. Select Full under Email, Print, or Download Records.
4. Click Apply Preferences
5. Click on the Print option. A new window will open with your saved citations.
From the File menu, select Save As or Save Page As.
6. Identify your disk drive and filename plus the extension .txt (plain text) in the File Name Box.
Example: a:myfile.txt
7. Click on Save.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import at the top of the screen.
3. Select RLG/Eureka (full format) from the Import Filter/Data Source drop down menu.
4. Select the appropriate database from the Database drop-down menu.
5. At the Import Data from the following Text File box click on the Browse button to select the file name of your saved records.
6. Click on Import.
7. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
8. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

17. In a WilsonWeb Database

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Click Print/ Email/Save at the left of the screen.
3. Click on Export to bibliographic software: EndNote, RefWorks...
4 . Click in the radio button to the left of records in marked set
5. Click in the radio button to the left of RefWorks Direct Export Tool.
6. Click in the radio button next to desired answer (Yes/No) to clear the marked set after the export?
7. Click on Export.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
3. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.

18. In Roger

1. Click in the box to the left of desired records
2. Click on the Save checked records button
3. Click on Print/Email Saved list at the top of the screen
4. Click in the radio button End-Note/RefWorks on the left side of the screen
5. Click in the radio button Screen on the right side of the screen
6. Click on Submit
7. Open text file
8. Use the browser’s Edit and Select All to select all of the records.
9. Copy the records using Edit and Copy.

In RefWorks

1. Login to your RefWorks database if you have not already done so.
2. Click on References and Import at the top of the screen.
3. Select Innovative Interfaces (EndNote/RefWorks Format) from the Import Filter/Data Source drop down menu.
4. Click in the radio button at the Import Data from the following text box.
5. Click in the text box, and click on Edit and Paste. Your records will appear in the text box.
6. Click on Import.
7. Your citation(s) will automatically be imported into the Last Imported Folder.
8. Select the View Last Imported Folder button to make sure that the data for each reference imported correctly.
