1. Announcements
MB: Jason Schulz informed us that we can now check out materials for the displays and the items' status will reflect "checked out" in Roger. Any recalls will automatically notify Mariah.
MB: We can also utilize the New Books in SSHL shelves/corner to display books related to future exhibits and change their location status in Roger to reflect that they're down in that area.
2. Updates
Black History Month Display Cases: DS reported that the exhibit is now complete. Mariah sent its description/announcement to Tammy today. Dorthea had a conversation with Benneta Jules-Rosette and we'll consider collaborating next year in conjunction with the Arts Libs.
SSHL Outreach/News & Events Page: Mariah reported that Dan is migrating the blog to the ACS blogging service. Two-way comments will be enabled with the blog migration but it does not allow for any embedded java script/applications. Maintenance of the blog is the responsibility of the OC and Mariah will keep the OC updated as things develop.
OC Membership & Recruitment: Mariah talking to Tammy about recruiting new members.
3. Discussion
Sharecase Update: Mariah reported that two of the Library presentations submitted by the Libs were accepted by the event's Organizing Committee including Laura Chips' Request presentation. Mariah showed related Request, Circuit, and library privilege handouts that Access Service would like distributed from the Libs' exhibit booth. Mariah coordinating with Karen Heskett & Laura Chips. Watch for the volunteer call to staff the exhibit booth during the event on 3/28.
Earth Month Update: RLT and the OC discussed & barnstormed Earth Month activities and Tracey has created a draft of potential activities (handout distributed). Tracey and Mariah to identify next steps. A call will go out to the subject specialists to identify top 5 related items in their area. Dorthea has identified a speaker and initiated communication w/Professor Pello, Urban Studies. Stay tuned for specific activities, campus partnerships, and tasks!
