The SSH Cluster Bibliographers Group consists of members of the SSH Cluster libraries (Arts, IR/PS, MSCL, and SSHL) who purchase materials in all formats in support of research and instruction in the social sciences and humanities. The Group's primary focus is with all aspects of collection development and management. This includes discussions and decisions on new services, CDL-related projects, collection weeding and relocation, format migration, and other issues related to creating a robust and dynamic collection to serve the evolving needs of UCSD faculty and students. With the proliferation of electronic resources and collection management activities, the Group now includes key members representing the Acquisitions Department/CDL and Metadata Services Department/Database Management Section. They are available to answer questions about the acquisitions and cataloging processes as they relate to collection development decisions made by the Cluster. Meetings generally occur every two months. A call for agenda items is distributed in advance and meeting summaries are distributed to the Group and posted to this site. |
