Approval Plans and Vendors

UCSD’s major monographic vendor is Yankee Book Peddler (YBP) and their British subsidiary, Lindsay and Croft. In addition, UCSD acquires European publications from Harrassowitz (German), Touzot (French), Casalini (Italian) and the Russian Press Service.

At present, UCSD selects from two vendor's onine databases: YBP via GOBI and Harrassowitz via OttoEditions. The Collection Coordinator will obtain user name and login information from the Acquisitions Department and provide database training for new Collection Managers.

Keep in mind that not everything may be available from a vendor. In these cases, the Collection Manager should provide complete ordering information to the Acquisition Department, including the ISBN and contact address, as appropriate.
