Gobi2
Gobi2 is YBP’s online database for searching, selecting, ordering, and reporting. New Collection Managers should obtain a login and password from Acquisitions Department staff and meet with the Collection Coordinator for initial training. Gobi2 provides online tutorials, manuals, an FAQ and approval glossary, and sample workflows. In addition, Gobi2 contains our UCSD approval plan and coverage by publisher. Advanced features include the ability to generate reports and establish peer groups for collections assessment. After hands-on training with the Collection Coordinator, Collection Managers should be able to set up individual and shared folders, establish fund templates, add notes to records, and mark items for special locations such as “reference,” and have patrons or faculty “notified” when the volume is available. The Acquisitions Department accepts orders in any format. “Rush” orders should be submitted as a direct order and they will acquire the title as quickly as possible.
