Collection Groups: Organization and StructureAt UCSD the AUL for Collection Services convenes the Collection Coordinators Group (CCG), which consists of one representative from each library and key members from the Acquisitions Department. These representatives bring information back to each library and discuss, as necessary, with the Science Librarians and Social Sciences & Humanities Cluster meetings. In addition, the AUL for Collection Services convenes the Bibliographers’ Council, a periodic meeting of all librarians engaged with collection management activities at UCSD. In addition to these local groups, there are UC-wide Bibliographer Groups that discuss all aspects of collections ranging from the distributed shared acquisition of print resources, to the development of shared print archives, and the UC-wide acquisition of new electronic resources and databases. UCSD Collection Managers are expected to participate actively with all these Groups, as applicable, and as opportunities arise.
